yes, one guy on pumapeople did. he had shit loads of problems as it was done by Seven Valley.

I see no reason why youd want to go to the hassle of doing custom mounts and looms to fit a really old, limited CVH?? youd be much better off going down a zetec turbo or modern lieghtweight duratec route, especially if you want big power.

For a final power target below 180-200bhp your better off putting in a 1.7/1.6 zetec SE lump and tuning it as its all straight swap.

yeah but how much does a 500bhp CVH cost compared to a 500bhp Zetec turbo or cossie?? and i dont just mean ŁŁŁŁ but reliability, availability of parts etc etc.

1.8 or 2.0 zetec surely would be the wiser choice? Available for sod all, powerful enough for a puma I'd think?

so a heavy iron lump 1.8 or 2.0 with 105/115/130bhp or 136bhp versus an all alloy lump??? if your going to do a NA zetec your better off dropping in a tuned 1.6/1.7 zetec SE from another puma!

A much heavier engine only works if the power well outwieghs the wieght cost.

The 1.8 and 2.0 do chuck out more torque though rather than revs although can be made to rev. Mine should be about 150bhp 150ftlbs torque with the current mods being done to it now hopefully. A 150bhp 1.6 or 1.7 would be about 20 or 30ftlbs down from that. Also why do most of the Si boys chuck 2.0 zetecs in?

Go for it, put the RST cvh in. if you have a good one already you may aswell. its not going to be that hard to fit. Running at a bar boost and breathing better the puma should be a good fun little runabout.
