Default hi-spec big disk kit on a 4x4 saff HELP!

trid to fit the new disks at the weekend but ran into a couple of problems, bought them second hand so only got the bell, rotors and brackets, no instuctions or bolts etc

first problem the disks dont fit in the calipers as they are too wide and touch on the carrier part of the caliper

second problem, the caliper overlaps the bolts that hold the brackets on, was it some kind of special bolt that goes in it so the caliper can sit flush?

anyone shead any light on this?

the hi spec big disc kit on my S2 (yes im aware its a different car) came with a variety of spacers and such, so that the carrier sits correct distance away from bracket etc, plus a couple of bolts with internal allen key heads so that it can clear a stndard bolt in close proximity

maybe could be a similar situation here?

i had this kit on my saph,

you have to widen your caliper with a dremel or a file so they slot in

if i remember rightly you have to tap the lower mounting hole on the wheel hub

hope this helps...........Matt

cool, i was planning on attacking the caliper with an angle grinder, lol

did you need to use any washers to space the caliper away from the bracket to allow for the bolt it covers?

edit

ah that make sense, you tap the mounting hole on the hub and put the bolt in from the opposite direction maybe

i have just been to the garage to get the brackets, the hole that fouls is bigger than the others, so i am guessing that you tap the hub to m12 and put the bolt in from the other direction, as you have said
