Default 2' x 6' door to a bedroom in the loft... is that legal?

i just moved into the converted loft and if i want to put a door on the entrance into the room it would only be 2' wide and 6'2" tall. is that ok or not really legal?

The height is fine. Not sure what its liek where you are, but 600 wide doors are usually a no. There are no hard and fast rules, and as its a loft conversion it wont need to be DDA compliant.

You might also find it a pain to get a door thats only 600.

I'm pretty sure its illegal - when we did our loft conversion a good few years ago, part of my room was used for the staircase to the attic bedroom and we were told that due to fire escape regulations it would be illegal to have a door at the foot of the stairs to the attic
