the m3 is more "nimble" but the M5 has the brutal power.

totally depends on your driving style as to which youll prefer IMHO.

I would happily stake my house on an M3 SMG murdering a big M5 round a track.

M3 would smash a M5 round a track, on the motorway its a diffrent thing. Why not buy an M3 a stick a vf engineering supercharger on it thats what i was gonna do before i got made redundant best of both worlds then.

No, the M5 is more fun more of the time, because it has so much torque.

The M5 chassis is also a lot better than the M3s,but the M3 has a better diff which makes it seem alot edgier.

as an everyday car m5.
if youre wanting something more sport orientated more of the time m3

m3 is much more "harsh" than the m5

my choice would be an m5-i remember dealing my m5 in against an e46 m3 and within an hour wondering if i had done the right thing..... and i was never sure i had.
