They are good up to 300bhp. After that would be better to change for the weber/marelli stuff

Stu @ MSD is working on a conversion that gives more power & retains the Ford ECU. Trouble is its not ready yet unfortunately.

The ST runs eec-iv management, it's a far superior ecu to the Weber Marelli ecu.

Do they fit on any cossie loom? Or do they have a completly different one?
If there that good why do they need changing after 300bhp.

I need to know as I have one at hand but is it any good for my application.
Do they run a coil pack anti lag etc?

I'm running low comps
greys
gt35
reprofiled kent cams and verniers

So should be well over 400bhp...

The eec-iv loom is completely different to the Weber Marelli loom. They do not need changing after 300 bhp, it's simply that until Motorsports Development undertook developing their conversion no one else bothered due to the complexity of doing so compared with using a Weber ecu. They run wasted spark as standard, I haven't heard of anti-lag on them though. TBH, if you already are running P8 then it's probably is not worth you converting because all your sensors and actuators would need changing too.

im running megasquirt 2 on original engine loom, i removed the eeciv enginge managment module and put in an adaptor board instead witch fit in the original case, all original sensors are used and its quite stright forward. Costed me around 400£ included a wide band lambda.

If you are thinking of going the DIY tuning route then there's the Moates QuarterHorse combined emulator and datalogger available for the eec management now http://www.moates.net/product_info.p...roducts_id=199
