i cant believe this has happend to me, finally got my s2 started after weeks of problems, pinned it down to the fueling, things were starting to look up for my little escort but then it all went down hill, started to take the spark plugs out to clean them up and no.2 felt like it was cross threaded, it wasnt, however the thread from the head did come still attached to the plug why something so simple be so complicated! the lesson to be learnt here, torque EVERYTHING!
tbh, i wouldnt want to put a heli coil in even if you can, seems a little suspect!
Helecoil done properly will be ok, i was once told that every tapped hole in aluminium on a aircraft has a helecoil fitted, if that is true should be ok for an RST.
