Ready to begin work on the conversion now!

Managed to get hold of:

• Rebuilt Escort MFI RST engine with ALL ancillaries (including water & boost hoses etc.)
• LSD Gearbox with shafts
• Garett T3 turbo
• Both ECU's (chipped)
• Full car loom with fuse box & relays
• Rad & intercooler
• Tank + external pump
• etc, etc, etc!

All for just £550.00!!!

Heard it running before the guy removed - very smooth! Guy reckons its running at approx. 170BHP.

Can't wait to get started - Any handy advise welcomed......

Will be dropping the engine in sometime in the next few days.........

Going to modify the tank too.

Everyone is going to slate me for this......but.....like I mentioned earlier Im literally dropping gear in and getting it running. Obviously Ill change the belts and pop a clutch in for now, but it all the mods and bling will have to wait and come on bit by bit.....

It will then turn into a working project as I use the van for work (gets me and the dog around) - Then I will start with the cosmetics.

I run a breakers yard, so Iv got enough time and equipment - also got hold of some 90's spec recaros- MINT!

Any ideas on door cards??? - Also need a load divide / security screen, cant find one anywhere. Will have to make one unless anyone has any suggestions?

Anyone interested in swapping the wheels off my van - got good tyres all round, all centre caps and no chunks or scrapes. WANT SMALLER WHEELS! RS rims would be perfect....

 

This will lok good when its done.

 

nice project mate! i've got RST wheels with good tyres for sale but i'm near Edinburgh, bit of a trek!

Just broken a white RST if you need any body parts!

 

As it happens Im after a front bumper and bonnet..... do you still have them?

 

have a look at some 90 spec orion door cards as they are almost the same plus you can get the doors & wiring you will have e/w,c/l + the new doors (if they are better than the ones you have )

 

i have a white 90 spec front bumper mate but bit of heat damage to part between headlights, not that bad, be perfect if you were looking to modify it for a bigger intercooler or that? Its also got a Laguna splitter fitted very well.

Bonnet was destroyed cos car had under bonnet fire. Kit is still there though?

yeah ive done a few mk3/4 vans & used all the bits out of orion ghia's cos you get c/l,e/w,decent interior (well better than a vans !! ) plus the dash,carpet,center console & if you get all the sound deadening out use it, it makes a BIG difference try to seal the front from the load area as it does get a bit noisy on motorways or use sound deadening in the back & woodline it make it more like a car i did one with a mate & we used some soundening felt & spray foam & used the trim from an orion 1600e one of the best vans ive been in long distance
