You don't need to remove the engine Just replace the gasket

Drop the exhaust down off the turbo, remove sump, replace gasket and stick everything back together. Job done. Oh and remember to re-fill the engine with oil.

Bit of a tricky job to do, as rstoughy said stick the new gasket to the engine with a bit of gasket sealer, let this set then put the sump in place.

There is a thread on here somewhere about this.

never ever use gasket sealer on a sump gasket!
the best way to change a sump gasket (if its the actual sump gasket and not the crank case seal ) is to
drop the exhaust and remove it,
remove the starter motor,
drain the oil!
remove the 10million bolts that hold the sump on!
drop it down and give it a fucking good clean!
clean the block up so there is no oil on it
SUPERGLUE the sump gasket to the sump itsself..
lift the sump up and bolt it all back up.. job done... it will be very dificult to get it to line up if you dont glue it on first!!
