My series two has been in the garage for too long, i am going to show it some much needed attension, i took it off the road after the engine had a horrid knock. i changed the cam, lifters, big end bearings but still no joy, its quiet as a mouse on idle but at 4000rpm upwards a low level knock is appearing, its rebuild time!!! i want to keep my head due to having bigger valves, ported, pulley and new cam, i want to go 1800-1900 bottom end now, i dont really wanna do zetec..
Anyone point me in the right direction... PLEASE!!!

 

My mate had a similar problem, turned out the shells were totally f*cked, just a thought!

 

Could be a small end.

Good luck though and for god sake get some photos up of the car lol
