The speakers randomly stopped working on mine a little while back, tried everything to get them working! Do a system restore and knock it back a couple of weeks, or whenever you last had it all working ok, it fixed mine!

Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

Man that sucks ass. The settings are same but you are at a new location etc. I would refresh your IP first of all. Click start, hit run, and type cmd. Then type in IPCONFIG /RELEASE

The type IPCONFIG /RENEW

That will refresh your IP address.

Also, delete your temp internet files. I'm on Vista so can't remember how to do it on XP off the top of my head, so this is copied and pasted from the web:

How can I delete these files?

For Internet Explorer 5 and above, you can follow these directions to clear out temporary files and delete cookies.

1) Open Internet Explorer and click on Tools
2) Click on Internet Options
3) On the General Tab, in the middle of the screen, click on Delete Files
4) You may also want to check the box "Delete all offline content"
5) Click on OK and wait for the hourglass icon to stop after it deletes the temporary internet files
6) You can now click on Delete Cookies and click OK to delete cookies that websites have placed on your hard drive.

If you're still struggling, head onto Google, type in Adaware free download and download the free version of Adaware. Run a full scan and see if this helps.

Let us know how you get on.

You could try downloading ccleaner from www.ccleaner.com .

That'll remove all the un-necessary crap off your computer that will slow it down!

Ive been following your pc threads, sometimes its easier just to call it quits, back up all your stuff to another drive, or usb flash drives etc and then reinstall windows, it will be like a new pc then.

For me that would be easier as ive done reinstalls loads of times so i can do it blindfolded

Not saying thats the correct way of sorting the pc, but sometimes rather than try to sort individual issues out its easier to do the re installation and fix everything in one hit

how do i back up the whole lot ?can i buy an external hard drive and back it up to that ? ive got my omputer just how i want it and dont want to lose any progs etc . i aint bothered about the pics and music etc , i just dont want to lose certian progs ive got on it ?

i still cant understand why its gone weird , all ive done is unplugged it , moved half a mile up the road , set it all up again , installed a belkin dongle thing and then its gone tits up from there ? the slowness is weird cos i know my birds ps and my my mums laptop are quicker when used on the same wireless connection but my PC has got 2GB of ram where as theres has only 1? and as for the uploading pics problem , thats just a pain in the arse ?

i dont mind buying a external hard drive if thats what i got to do ?
