Default connect st 2.5 new pics 5 3 10

well iv had it a while now and decided to do a bit

bought an ex rac transit connect with a damaged engine from ebay
Name: connect-1.jpg
Views: 2448
Size: 54.0 KB

the engine was a bit worse than i thought
Name: DSC00281.jpg
Views: 2655
Size: 121.3 KB

then i had a go in a focus st for the first time and had an idea

so was then on the look out for parts

then i had a phone call with Andy Galacher who had a load of bits he no longer needed and it was verry good of him to offer me the lot for nothing
so off we went to scotland

today we had to remove the engine toremove some bits id sold on ebay
Beefy and my younger brother removed the engine and i decided id try fitting the beam

engine removed
Name: DSC00393.jpg
Views: 1997
Size: 76.5 KB

so i got the focus beam and we tried it in and it wouldnt go in so it was out with the tools to madify the bed and the chassis legs to get things how we needed

so we now have this and thats where we left it for today

we are coming accross tupid little differences in the way things atatch to the car but all things can be made to fit and this is alot easier than putting a cosworth yb in it and much cheeper (will be a work van after all)

but it isnt the hardest thing in the world to do after all its already a focus mk1 floor pan and engine bay other than management its just fitting the rear beam that will need to be looked at as i want it to handle the leaf springs are going

Your putting a focus ST engine in? How easy will it be to mount into the mk1 focus engine bay?

It has been looked into on another forum I use and its not gonna be a straightforward fit! Need a bit of fab work to make up mounts apparantely, although I've not looked myself.

Good luck with it!
