That Escort was in this months practical classics Rust in piece. In a field in Derby (i think) with loads of other classics, they said they were keeping the location top secret, so do tell!!

are the cars breakers that are in the other field?theres nowhere near me anymore like that.the high price of scrap cleared all that out.i do know where theres a pond full of stolen cossie and rs turbo shells.though.they pumped it out 1 year to the point where you could see what was there.we speak about ways to get in there all the time as it fascinates me!

no,but there was half of a sapph lying on top of a white rs turbo.plus there was bags and bags of seatbelts, mirrors and other ford related stuff in there under the water.my pal reluctantly went in with scuba gear but it was too dirty to see,but he did find a transit and newish clio shell.i did some asking around and its 100% true that it was used by a few car thieves from the 90's heyday of cossies being stolen to dump the shells and other parts.1 story goes that a scumbag was heading back to the chop shop in a stolen sapph and heard over the scanner that the police were waiting for him a few miles down the road,he headed for the pond(its a disused remote quarry) and put the car in whole.we could only explore the sides with a grappling hook and thats where the shells are, whole cars float so out in the middle is where the treasure is.im not forgetting about whats maybe in there and how to get it out or at least see whats in there.

mk1 and mk2 were always left on the side of the road and dumped in fields years ago, can remember watching local banger racing with plenty of old fords competing - most in better condition than some of the ones for sale recently.

it only gets pumped out in the summer when the potatoes need water.we were raking about in it about 3 or 4 years ago last time it was pumped out.every so often i go past but theres always another crop planted nearby.without a doubt theres cossie's in there.i think the farmer stops pumping when the cars become visible then he moves to another pond which i doubt has anything interesting in it due to it being harder to get to.theres loads of ponds round about me as they were all dug out for railway chuckys years ago.we have investigated most of them and actually put cars in another 1 once we had wrecked them.old belmonts and renault 5's.that pond got filled in.we were kicking ourselves when a scrap car was worth Ł100 as we probably wrecked 20 or so cars.i live on the north east coast of scotland.

its something that would need a lot of planning, somebody would need to dive it to see if there was anything better than just shells, then the possibility of pumping it out or some kind of grapple/magnet to get at them, then a machine that could reach them or which has the strength to pull them out.go to google, type in aboutmyplace which is all 1 word, type in a postcode where there is a yard which you suspect may contain cars which are of interest and you will get an aerial view of the property,i just found a yard which has some 80's fords in it.every town has a yard that supposedly has old cars in it!there was 1 opened up in wales last year after shutting in the 80's!

diver and telehandler ,depends how deep the pond is ,the quarry i know with the 80+cars in it is far to deep to dive to bottom ,hence why nothing has been found ,most divers can only go down 30-40 metres and this quarry is over 80 metres deep ,did anyone check out powmill quarry near knockhill on youtube
