2wd saph idling high
my 88f 2wd saph is idling at 1200rpm when warm-how do i turn the idling down?or is it the idle control valve thats goosed?,its very spluttery when i start it from cold as if its getting to much choke-any ideas on curing this prob also-thanks in advance
Could be a few problems here, if the CTS is more than a few years old I would change it, then get CO set to what chipmaker says as a idling co.
TRy first cleaning the idle speed valve with carb cleaner, then spray inside with silicone polish/furniture polish., if this is still idling high do below.
Then the, screw to adjust the tickover speed is mounted on the underside of the throttle housing pointing forwards, a 14mm nut on a brass screw, loosen locknut and turn screw to adjust tighten locknut.
Be sure to have up to temp, with the idle speed valve disconnected.
