Alternator change on a 1.8TD mondeo P reg?

Can you do it with the car on the floor or is it ramps time? Mine has gone when I am stuck at work with limited tools/time and no ramps

I t can be done on the floor, ie no ramps, but is a bit of a shit of a job anyway, only ever done one, I had a 4 poster but sure I did it all from above in the end.
