Default Bolt length for front strut brace.....

Just after some advice about the length of bolts to use for fixing a front strut brace on a series 2?

To be honest, i have not done any trial and error stuff yet, thought to do a quick post on here to see what length bolts you guys have used, which allow enough clearance so not to foul on the suspension!

Iam thinking of using M8 domes, and was thinking length of 1" thread!!!! Would 1" be to long?

Any advice greatly welcomed.

Cheers

1 inch may be too long, think i used 15mm long at the most, depends on the thickness of your S/Brace though to be honest..

Thanks mate, i think your right, will have to measure thickness of the brace, but from what i can remember its about 5mm ish.

I would guess the top struts would be about 3-5mm thick, plus a small washer, say total 10mm for that lot. Then probably another 10mm for the bolt.

I agree, i think a 1" thread might be to long. Don’t suppose you know what the distance apart is from inside top of strut to top of suspension?

Cheers
