Back in the day, bought one of my 1st car mags, fast car i think, with a green escort with 2 1600cvh turbo engines and was gobsmacked. About 2-3 years ago see it on ebay unfortunately me and a friend was unlucky in purchessing it. Has anyone re-built it? Or let me re-live my childhood dream and get it!!!!!

 

Seen a light blue one featured a while back. Maybe its the same one? Also seen at MaxPowerLive about 4 years ago.........

the blue one was with a photshoot of jordan in her early days ive got a copy and said to the mrs the other day how far she has gone from modeling with mk4 escorts to where she is now lol

 

Its still around! A mate of a mate owns it and last I heard its been modded to take 4x4 Cossie power. Hasnt had any work done in AGES though as far as I know

if so, then the dude used the light blue 1 to make the green 1, and then yeh i saw him at the 'pod the following year with a 106 with a 1600cvh turbo lump in the back, and wide arches etc, struggling to get any traction on the strip

ive got a big poster from one of the magazines with it on lol used to love that car/ converted pickup !!

Thats the one!!! Good find mate, I know I have got that mag in the loft. Remember seeing it at the pod and a rather funky twin engine renault 5 that ruled the quarter mile. I want this escort with 2 500 bhp engines built by the man Ian Howell, thats when the 6 magic numbers roll in!!!!

Had trouble launching. Front and rear looked liek they were fighting each other. Ran a very high 12 at best I think?

jus been reading the september 2013 issue of jap performance an say an article of squints 1jz engined is200, it says that the pickup was wrapped round a lampost! i hope it hasnt, i love that car lol.

The pick up was built from a blue rear engined Mk4 Escort that was wrapped round a lamppost, so guessing that's what they mean.

 

Its funny, these cars get mentioned and I go on Facebook and someone's dug up a pic of the Max Power project RS Turbo....
