Obviously I know nothing and my word means nothing but I would suppose that as long as the money recieved from the sale would only go into a personal account I can't see how they can say no?

It is a BIG shame that this site is run for 10 or so traders and lost the real enthusiast feel.

If you read my quote Alan, I was simply referring to your suggestion that you "Got no reply". I was pointing out that you did. It was on post 31.

Post 32 suggest you are not in the auto trade. We have already agreed that you are mate. If Martin Hadland of Reyland had an ebay shop but didn't register it as a business one, would that mean it was ok for him to sell all his wheels on here for free? I'm sure you agree the answer is no.

I know this doesn't sit nicely with you Alan and it feels awkward as we do business together outside of PF but the fact is once you become self employed in the auto industry, as far as PF is concerned, you are a trader. Sorry.

As long as your not a 'serial seller' then i cant see it being a problem.

I have worried about this new rule, as im something of a car whore, often only keeping them for a month untill i get bored and want something else, but that dont make me a trader! Does it?

New rules were inforced this month (check the header at the top of the classifieds section) If they thing your doing it as a business, even a "part time business" then they will make yu pay trader fees.

As i said im a bit concerned as to how they will police this, as me and many others i know often only have a car for a month or two, then fancy a change.

All IMO of course

Your opinion sucks

The site welcomes traders fees, so the ten or so traders PAY to sell products. Why is this such a problem to understand

I know, why don't you get one of your ecu's and go to Maplins or Dixons, put it on the shelf with your name and contact details and see how long before they remove it

IB has rules about trading and what they offer for the payments they receive, why should the traders that pay be short changed???

Dan you cunt, you are biased so your opinion means jack shit

The enthusiast means jack shit to IB and you know that. This site is now 100% about business.
Lots of traders and EX traders that are not "official" give valuable advice and help without selling anything for their business yet get shit all the time...Like andrewg for example.
Its bad enough that we get extra adverts forced upon us too even as paying gold members.

Out goes the passion, in comes the balance book and fuck loads of beemers

Yes its my opinion but I am not alone (i hope).

I'm not biased, I'm paying my way and drop the vulgar name calling, do you think that the site needs it?

Again a load of waffle about this and that etc I let you know a fact "life's not fair"

Your example about giving advice is flawed if they were allowed to sell products just because they are giving FREE advice it's not FREE advice anymore as they are selling products you know the saying about a free lunch

You "seem" quite clever but you are failing to grasp something that is so simple a child could understand it - yet you seem to struggle with it

If any company wants to advertise/sell products they have to follow the rules.

If it was a free for all, do you think the board would still be here? - would Pet have kept running it without any cash coming in. When he had enough the board would have closed and everyone would have to move on again but as it was a business making money instead he sold it to IB and they have turned it into a bigger business and as long as traders/users use the board and IB see the money coming in they will carry on running the board.

So infact the traders/goldmembers paying the fees, the BMW owners that frequent and also the non paying member all have a part in the game to keep the board running because IB are able to sell the advertising which keeps the board running (the adverts you are moaning about).

TBH the enthusiasts are still here but the board is now all about moaning about the establishment IB don't make the topics up in GD it's the users, so maybe its the arguing, name calling and bitchyness that's spoiling the enjoyment for everyone

I'm not going to say anymore on this subject if you want to argue some more make a post when you submit it, re read what I've written as I have probably answered your next moan in the previous post

Have a nice evening

Dan,

LOL, lighten up. most of what I said was banter

(You know a bit of fun etc ....LOL)

If you want to pay your way...good for you.!
I also contribute to the site with tech info on a wide variety of stuff as well as a bit of humour...
I have paid too as a gold member and I hope that you dont think my opinion doesnt count any less than
yours just because you paid more money to use this site so please dont talk down to me like I am stupid

If you dont like swearing then I apologise but its allowed in the precious rules in the context I used it !

The number of adverts are increasing, also random missdirections to wrong pages (I.E. sponsored adverts are getting more frequent from my experience)

While I agree this site needs money to survive, why get an 80ft yacht when a 50ft yacht will do...LOL ...

That last bit was a joke...you know....fun....

I have to reply because now you've said it was a joke don't think I'm a killjoy or I haven't got a sense of humour because you'd be wrong

You know it would be banter if you didn't KEEP going on about the "Traders" moaning at every opportunity. I must have read the same joke over 10 times now so excuse me if I didn't find it funny It would have been a bit funnier if you said moaning goldmembers either way when you or anyone else jump on a post saying your funny joke and it starts a fire which then turns the board against the paying traders.

I am running a business and I pay to advertise in various places and this is advertising for me which pays my bills. So I'm not paying it out of the goodness of my heart or trying to be above any other user.

As for talking down to you, the concept of the fees and why they are there is so simple for you to carry on arguing is pretty stupid TBH.

The goldmembers AND non goldmembers are the most important people on the site IMO as they are the customers - do you think other traders buy parts from me on a regular basis?

I don't normally post much due to the arguments but I've written the above because it gets on my nerves that the paying traders on the site are seen as the "enemy" and the non payers are a valuable contributors. (and I'm not saying that they aren't) but the site wouldn't be here without the traders fees from the start.

Do you realise that everytime they stop a non paying company it actually helps the board as they then look at paying the fees the same with ex traders as they realise they won't get away with it they have to pay the fee.

as for the swearing there is a time and a place it may be allowed, but don't say something to me on the board you wouldn't say to my face. I've not met you in person but would you come up to me and "try" to start a convo with your first line? I bet you wouldn't

As for the adverts open FHM or MAXIM and count the adverts to editorial content then tell me about too many adverts. There wouldn't be a mag without adverts it would be a newsletter

From your joke about the yacht's, I know I wouldn't want to get stuck in a lift with you.

Dan,
I agree with you in that people like yourself do contribute and are valuable to the site but other users are more than just customers..they are the backbone of the site. They were here first.... !

This place started off as a Ford enthusiasts site as it says at the top of every page. but not many Fords and most rules aimed to keep traders happy .... !

I am resigned to the fact things are as they are but banter makes the day go better.

As for the yacht joke, perhaps you are out of touch with the all of the Petrucci jokes ...LOL

I think a mod or admin, need to clarify this and decide if a trader can sell his own personal car on here,
I can't see a problem myself. and if the answer is no then it's unfair imo

I cannot comment on this as i do not know the facts!!??

what is your trade?

what parts did you want to sell?

FOR EXAMPLE: if your trade is as an alloy fabricator and you want to sell some header tanks or fancy alloy goods then that could be a problem....
but if youre just selling a set of wheels then thats easily distinguishable from your trade items that you would normally sell.

If youre a car breaker or spares specialist then its nigh on impossible to prove that that ANY car parts you want to sell arent to do with your trade...you could however sell a sofa on here!!

If a trader on here wants to sell something but is only a goldmember maybe run it past one of the mods first before advertising it?

Im hoping Stu will clarify the situation more fully when he gets a chance!!

Again I cannot comment on each personal case.....

If you are an evolution chip dealer...... I cannot see why there would be a problem with you selling your own car or parts from it!?

But i will have to state now that this and all comments above by me are IMHO.

Its a grey area Andy and I would say no because as appearances go you are in the motor trade and could quite easily sell cars regardless of wether you do or not this week. You are heavily into the Cosworth Scene and have your own garage full of cosworths and Ford RS's your working on.

If we dont take this stance, we will be inundated with traders selling parts on here they "Dont normally sell" For example, I could make a killing on here with my reputation selling TurboChargers, or Intercoolers I reckon. So why not cancel my trade account and do so?

Im sure you will understand the reason the policy works this way.

Interestingly, the stuff you sell that members on here would love to buy i am literally amazed your not a trader already!

but then you should have an allowance of maybe 2 cars a year, or two items, then you could hardly say we are making a "killing" from it?

If we dont take this stance, we will be inundated with traders selling parts on here they "Dont normally sell" For example, I could make a killing on here with my reputation selling TurboChargers, or Intercoolers I reckon. So why not cancel my trade account and do so?

Im sure you will understand the reason the policy works this way.

Interestingly, the stuff you sell that members on here would love to buy i am literally amazed your not a trader already!

my friend (craig2016) that was working with me contacted you and asked about me becoming a trader and around that point my user name was changed from andrewfgallacher to andrewg, my trade name is AG Motorsport so couldn't see what the problem was and this annoyed me so decided not to go ahead with becoming a trader.

Hi Andy,
Im afraid we cant change site policy for one case and Im sure as a trader with overheads you fully understand why the system is as it is, because we have paying traders to protect.

As for your username, i presume the moderator in question simply saw your business as being relayted heaviliy to you name because:

A) Your trade logo has your name in.
&
B) Your web address, is actually your name.

I didnt want to really get into this and am simply answering the questions you have asked, the fact you do not wish to become a trader is your perogative and I hope you continue to enjoy the site.
