Default am i stupid??.....

i got a complete motor ( no history! lol) to put in me s1. it has a later type water pump on it. changed the water pump to the s1 one, stuck the engine in the car, now the inlet manifold doesnt fit?!. is the head different on a s1 to a s2?, as in ports un stuff?. ifso, is there any other differences that i might be overlooking that might catch me out?

Get a photo up mate of your head and manifold, the only difference between a S1 inlet and a S2 as far as i know is that one is a 'one-piece' manifold and the other is a 'two-piece' manifold, cant remember which is which though.

heads are the same mate, have you fitted the part of the inlet manifold with the injectors in it first?

thanks for the replys chaps, but it was me being a dick! lol.
being a s2 lump it has long manifold studs, making me think there was something missing between the manifold and the head.
my excuse is that i removed the engine along time ago!. so used the original s1 studs and hey presto it fits!! lol

headache over lol
