Default RS Turbo Engines

Hey,

1.6 CVH, 1.9 CVH and 2.1 ZVH

What would be the cheapest and easiest option to achieve 200-300bhp from one of these engines for fast road and track use? Possibly AWD as well

Im looking at putting one in a Mk5 Fiesta, what work would be involved in putting one in? I want a LSD as well, I heard maybe one from a series 2 would fit?

I dont really know an awful lot about the older Fords such as the RS Turbo's and stuff, so Im after as much infomation as I can gather before going out and spending my cash, its gunna be a project car for the track, but would like it to be road legal as well.

If failing this, Il opt for the 200bhp Shawspeed engine, which is really a straight swap

Cheers

Drew

Another lost soul.

No such thing as "cheap and best". No such thing as "cheap and easy".

There's a big difference between 200 and 300bhp, so pick a power figure.

There's an astronomical difference between fwd and 4wd. Choose one!

Stop with the wafty ideas and focus on what it is you want to achieve and then you can formulate a plan and get an idea on the cost.

if i were you i'd try and get hold of an engine and box from a focus RS, 220bhp straight away

and with a manifold, chip exhaust etc 300bhp is achievable.

easily mounted into a fiesta, but do a mk6 instead of a mk5

if you get the RS box you get a decent Diff too

Yeah I did consider that, but ive already got a Focus RS so I was kinda thinking of doing something a bit different to what ive already got!

But the MK6 sounds like an appealing idea tbh, Im just throwing ideas around in my head at the moment and trying to decide the best route to take

I think you can ditch your 4wd idea then.

If you're doing all the work yourself, then you could build a 300bhp zetec turbo for that kind of money. Just about. It'll always end up costing more though, especially with custom work required for your choice of car.

What about for £5000 a nice 200bhp engine with suspension and brakes to suit?
