anyone know the difference between the different ecu codes on the mk2 2L mondeos? got a 99 2L with the ecu code BASH & only 1 key for the car, ford want £100 for a spare key or I can get the ecu & lockset with 3 keys off a m8 whos breaking one for £20 but the ecu code is OWL4. will this ecu work on my car or is it possible just swap the pats chip?

I would do a bit of ringing round as I paid £58 for 1 more black key, 1 red master key(had none) and deleting all old keys plus programing new ones, from a ford dealer.
Locksmiths can also do these, these days.
Is it a black or red key you have ?, if you have the red you can programme yourself.
There are loads of minor differences on the ecu's, so not as simple as swap one on.
