Default Living next to an electricity pilon?

Right

So I am looking for houses, found a nice semi, 3 bed, big drive way, 2 garages, extended, no chain, mortgage in repossesion so its quite cheap given market and so on.

Then you look on the aerial view and theres an electricity pilon.

Theres no real government recognized proof that pylons are a health hazard. Sure might knock a bit of value off house but not much.

Some people claim to be sensitive to EM fields and all that bollocks but either you believe in that stuff or you dont.

Its cheap at £115k anyways.. and I quite fancy using the pilon to attempt to get some more money off it...

More thoughts....

Personally... I was hoping it would cure my snoring too...

Apparently they are noisy when wet, and I just wouldn't risk it, no proof of a connection, but worth the risk??

Imagine it will always be hard to sell also as that is as close as you get lol!!!

From the front someone house and garden, From the back a bush and a big metal structure

Our kids old house was next to a pylon, no real issues, after a while you get used to it and dont really notice it.

For me personally I couldn't care less especially if I can get it for "peanuts"

Its just the general consensus for re sale..

To me its like buying a cat d car..... buy cheap to sell cheap... they have to go somewhere...

Prob I see is its a good family home- but I might not be able to sell to a family lol

Shings with repos, dont you have to chuck a bid in and then they go in paper and wait for other bids too? I went to one before in disirable area and it was a fookin nightmare. House ended up going for 30k more, than expecting.

I'm not too up on it... but I think you bang in a bid and if its accepted they have to publish in the local paper that they've had an offer - Mortgages in Possession Act or somet and there is 7 days in which other people need to offer higher bids.

Yeah thats it, just to let you know can be a nightmare. Was with the one i tried before. But becuase the market has worsend a lot since you might have better luck. The other thing to consider with buying repo mate is you need the funds very quick if offer is accepted so also another thing to bare in mind. Speak to the estate agents etc before putting a offer with the terms etc.

In two cases, the cancer-causing pollutants were recorded 500 metres from power cables, they say in the International Journal of Radiation Biology.

I live in "north solihull" ( in case Tiff is watching ) its like one big council estate.

Not really much you can do unless you wanna pay silly money that I dont have..

I missed a 3 bed detached house in an ok area today for £120k.. on a corner plot, the potential was awesome..

Not everyone can afford 200k plus for first house! Looks bloody great house for a start to me.

I do mate, my first house was a terraced. He asked for views! I dont have love for coal mining, i have hatred for the government who destroyed the industry and the communities! Doesnt mean i want to live on an Ex coal mining estate or a council estate!

What i mean is, an ex council house is never gonna to really increase in value, wether there is a pilon there or not! Thats why it would concern me! It isnt the house, as usually they are quite big with big gardens, its the folk!

IMO keep looking! Prices are coming down mate we know this! As i say, an ex council house is always gonna have that stigma!
