Breather fitting Kit: What do you use?
Been a few topics of late to do with Bailey Breather/Catch tanks, mine being one of them!
Also been a few threads to do with silicon hoses and oils....
I am using a silicon hose i got off the bay of e for cheap, but have recently been told/read that it aint the right stuff as it could cause major issues as time goes by.
If you have a Breather Tank, what hosing are you using... or what would you suggest using?
Im sure im not the only one here that wouldnt appreciate an engine full of melted rubber and god knows what problems that'd come with using the wrong stuff!

Proper oil hose is the best bet. You can use Silicone, but it must be the Flurolined stuff, which is oil resistant.
Normal silicone will degrade with oil/oil vapour passing through it and will get that horrible manky discoloured look too.

The rest of the hoses i have are blue, so the normal fitting kit (being black) would look a bit pants.... just like it did when i didnt have the baileys fitted.
Do Bailey do their fitting kit in blue?
I looked over at BurtonPower lastnight and saw their braided oil hosing in 15.9mm ID, but what with the clamps needed too, it'd cost over £70... and thats doing it the cheap way.
Im gonna remove the silicon pipe for now and use the normal oil tubing, not that im happy doing so lol... but its better than screwing my engine eh!

You can get the hose from samco but it aint cheap or you could just use the fiting kit you get with the bailey breather and wrap some blue silicone hose tape round it burtons do it and it looks just as good

Thats a cheaper option, Ant. Thanks.
Just browsing for oil resistant silicone and read something that made me think:
The hose that i wanna keep blue is the one that runs from the breather hole of the rocker to the breather tank (longest one on top of engine)... the main oil hose which runs from the bottom of the breather to the oil sump/bottom of engine is the one that would cause issues if standard silicone hose, true?
Or again have i got this wrong?
Found this tho: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=120344124702
They also do the end fittings £10 for 2... so thats a lot cheaper than BurtonPower.
