As some of u know G***KWR has been off the road for over a year now after the engine went pop. Not alot has happened during this time as i have been very busy, but I have finally got round to making some progress with it. As its of the road i have decided to deal with the rust and rebuild the car. Once ive got the car looking the way i want, i will be treating it to a new engine...and i promise this will be 300+bhp.
I will keep this thread up to date on all progress which is being made.
Over Xmas ive been busy (with the help from my trusty sidekick Max) stripping the car ready for a trip to the bodyshop for de-rusting and a coat of paint. This revealed some really bad welding which i had done by Castle Performance just after i brought the car. Their work was so poor, and seems to be the main cause of my rust problem. So all this will need cutting out and re-doing.
I have also been busy sourcing parts, including a few good finds on ebay to pick up some discontinued parts. Also a few trips down Fords for very expensive bags of bolts...THANX U Alex for sorting me out...reducing the dent in my wallet.
Still plenty more work to be done, but heres some pics of the progress so far...
Sitting pretty before the carnage began.

Engine bay starting to look abit bare. Theres a couple of bad areas of rust which need dealing with. Already have a new slam panel ready to go in.

Interior out to reveal bad Castle performance welding.

Bodykit off to reveal more bad Castle performance welding.

Some slight crash damage covered by skirts. Nothing major.

Next on the list of things to do...
-Dash out
-Headlining out
-Finish stripping the bay
Parts needed this month...
-Drivers door (White)
-Arch spats and skirts (Un bent)

Also the satisfaction of saving another RS from the scrapyard will make it all worth it in the end.
Yes the welding is really bad. Gonna have to chop it all out and have it re done. You wud never beleive that i spent 1K on welding when i got the car. :S

I have decided to abandon the restoration as on further inspection there is far to much work needed to get the car back to the standard i want. If anyone is looking for a cheap shell and ID then PM me as it will need to go to make room for my new project.
