Default Dont you just love RS's!!

Driving along happily......... and all of a sudden i have only 1st and 2nd gear!!!
Stick just wouldnt move over to the middle (3rd and 4th) or all the way accross (5th and Reverse) so i only have 1st and 2nd!

Disconnected the selecta rod and stick moves freely, try and change gear using a small screwdriver through the shaft that sticks out the gearbox and same thing..... 1st and 2nd but nothing else, it's rock solid in any other direction and even 1st and 2nd are stiffer than they were

New box time!

Even better. Leave them in the garage. Lock the door and never come back

sorry to hear you had bad luck with the old gearbox probaly split a gear like i did 2 xmas ago and that was a cts stage 2 i was on m25 doing 65 mph went to over take a car and bang but car still had drive untill i went onto hard shoulder and selected neutral had to pull away in 2nd to get off motorway then just as i got off the m-way it went cap-put then the AA done the rest of the trip
got it back to cts and was found to be a split in half first gear
and now driving another erst with a whinney box when cold but not for long
hope you can get it sorted soon

tobe honest i get a kick of some sort out of working on my rst it just feels good to put a thing right which was wrong( and i dont mean a bulb change) how many cars now days dont need a pc to right somethink
you take your average car nowdays the service light comes on you service it with better quality parts than the average garage uses but you have to plug it in to a pc to reset the service light y o y
give me a bag of tools and a cvh turbo i will be happy
dont give up on the car and it wont give up on you

i would have agreed with you up till i bought the s2 i have now.
had 4 s2s befor this an they was all 80-100k cars and i had nothing but problems!
so i decided rather than polish a turd i bought the car i have now what had few owners and only 32k on the clock i paid good money for it but its a small price to pay for a mint un abused motor!! its never broken down yet even now its running big power an i give it death!
