i have a v plate tddi ford focus on about 50k, 1 owner, rust free etc, 5 door in navy blue. Problem being the tensioner has collapsed and buggered the cam for sure (havnt had head off to inspect rest but didnt make any bang or anything). My question is how much would it be worth roughly selling as it is compared to id i repaired it? i can have it sold at £1800 to somebody once running so mainly looking for opinions of how much its worth as is? also found an engine for £200. Has m.o.t, new front brakes, new timing chain etc.

Repair it mate, They see 250000 all day long its only a baby at 50k, if you cant fix the 50k engine drop in a new one they are many about.

 

if you can get 1800 for a v plate diesel focus foook me id have it repaired and sold

get the head off check the valves and seats etc

 

buy your new engine mate and put it in
i'll buy your old 1 with the broken belt
as said before i got a head for it, i'll just make a good engine out the good bits

ive put a deposit down on the engine now so shall pick it up after mallory, then fit pump etc lol

 

repair it mate, i bought one with a diesel pump gone, fitted a new pump and it's as good as gold now, 130,000 miles and it drives like a new car still, i'm well happy with my one, just need a new boot and rear bumper as i reversed into a lamppost if you do sell it as spares i need them bit's, oh and the slidey bit that go's across the top of the boot, should really get off my arse and get one from the breakers

 

doubt il be breaking it tbh mate as time is on my side before nieghbours get back from hols so need it repaired and out of the drive pmsl
