Default car tax

im looking to buy this car

http://pistonheads.com/sales/816643.htm

Now its a 2001/Y reg 2.5 litre.

How does this, if at all, affect the new tax laws. Some say it will cost me £700 a year to tax, others say £400 a year, some say its too old and therefore will cost circa £200 ish. (the same rates for the last decade+).

Thankyou

right

that link says class F which is £125 which happens to be the same as my mums 06 1.8t TT 163hp.

But on mondeoowners.org they reckon a mondeo 2.5 v6 ghia x made after march 2009 will be circa £405 to tax.

so im still unsure ? going to look at the car at some point next week so need clarification please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
