How long does it take for the battery to go flat.Have you had a battery test to make sure its not nackered.Batterys dont like this time of year.I have just put a new battery on mine about a month ago.

sounds like the alarm to me mate , worth checkin to see if anythin else is pullin more than it should though. With a multi meter undo the earth side of the bat and connect the meter to batt and the loose earth wires you have removed. Turn the meter to AMPs and see wot it's reading, Any thing below 0.30 should be pritty good for a car of this age. If it's above then take out the fuses one by one and you should find the drain. Worth mentioning that you'll have have a drain from the clock and make sure youve got all the doors shut and the boot. Oh and disconect the pin swith for the alarm under the bonnet if it has one this may give you a faulse drain. Oh yeah when you disconnect the batt turn ur lights on for 2mins just to make sure all the caps have discharged and turn em off again along with heater swithes and so on . Hope this helps Ally

Just a note, don't leave your keys in the car, and leave a window open.
Anything up to 50 miliamps is normal with some alarms, particularly if you have extra bits on it, or tracker as well.
Don't discount the alternator either just because it is new, they can still drain, but easily identified by disconnecting.

I also had a fault with my osf central door locking module. It was nackered and the little motor inside was just constantly working causing the battery to go flat.Just remember these are old cars and are gonna have little faults.
