Hi!

Does anybody here have any information about Escort Cosworths WRC engine.

I've been trying to find some info about the damn thing for past week and only thing i've come up with are that the stroke is same as "normal" Cosworth engine and that the compression ratio in 9,6:1.

I'm intrested mainly in connection rod lengt, piston compression height and volume of dome dish. But, any other info is wellcome too..

I'm building my second Cosworth engine. This time with slightly raised compression ratio, somewhere between 8,5:1 and 9:1. And slightly longer connection rods. I'm going to keep the standard stroke. Bore will be somewhere in 91mm region. Hoping to get ~450bhp out of it and a wide power band with lot of torgue.

i have a ecos wrc prep manual with all the guff, ill have a look at it when i get home from work. should be something in there about it.

 

I think as for compression you can get Accralite pistons of which would be ready from the shelf with 90.93mm or 92.00mm in 9.2:1 of which is the WRC specification.
High Compression engine builds i think are storming in seen some engines and talked to some tuners of which are working with High Compression ratios and there for need low boost pressures as if you think it out High Boost levels on High Compression factor the temperatures in the chamber will be way off (Imagine EGT gauge readings),
But there should be other guys here of which will definetly would suggest your WRC engine build. And they like this kind of setup.
