Default Inspiration for Zetec upgrade

Hi guys please be gentle newby
currently have a Westfield powered by a standard 130ps 2L zetec
add twin 45 webbers and alpha ecu this now pushes out 168 bhp

But its not enough it never is,
has anyone dropped a ST170 head on the zetec if so what benefits pitfalls would i come across
is it an easy mod
will the zetec cams and stuff fit on the st head
what sort of power am i looking at if my ecu can run the vvt

Cheers

I doubt your twin 45's would be big enough to benefit from an ST170 head..

i am pretty sure if your zetec engine is a silver top then the st170 head wont go on it anyway

It will.. you just need to suss out a new cam belt tensioner.

Ditch the silver top water pump and fit a electrical one so it removes the water pump pulley then you can fit the ST head

my mistake, i thought that some of the water and oil ways did not match from the silver top block to a black top head. Could you explain more on what is needed to make it fit then?

why would the water pump pulley interfere (sp?) with the cambelt tensioner?

Not the tensioner but the cambelt itself

Look at a S1/2 cambelt setup and a S3/ST170 one and you will see for yourself

cams and headwork not cheap then rolling road retune
gotta be looking at over Ł1200 -Ł1500
trying to gain poweron a budget aint easy

can get a full st170 engine for Ł350 so thought it would be alot easier and cheaper to get a few more horses

if im barking up the wrong tree please tell me
sounds like i need your help

anyone else got any ideas on more power for the zetec ,which cams to fit, with or without headwork.
anythink else obvious that i missed
cheers
and a happy new year to you all
Rob
