Default turbo with throttle bodies

hi

i am toying on the idea of using bike throttle bodys with a pleminum casing around them so i can use them with a turbo on my focus rs engine

i know it has been done before but im wondering if theres anything extra i need to know or is it simply making a case around the throttle bodies to connect up the pipe work?

cheers

You'll need suitable management and mapping... a costly exercise, trust me!!

Also it's quite likely that throttle bodies designed for n/a use will not seal properly under boost.

Bike carbs are designed to run under vacum, if you try putting a bar of boost up their arse they might have sealing issues. I'd try to do a bit of a drop test if you can on one of the TBs....seal it all up and fill with a measure of gas (welding gas works well) say at like 3 bar and see if it drops much, or if it pushes out any internal seals etc...

If it holds the pressure then there's no reason why not to use them.

Cheers
Dan
