Just bought my car a week or two ago on return from Afghanistan.... (HOT) Took it for an MOT to be told that the wategate's sticking. This any hard to sort out? Hopefuly i'll be able to manage it myself unless I need a new one?? Any help would be appreciated greatly....

hi mate sticking waste gate will cause turbo too over boost if stuck shut or under boost as it may stick open

disconnect actuator and check wastgate bit fiddely.also i take it ,it did'nt fail the mot on a sticking wastgate
as it's not a mot failer and he would have had to give it a boot full too see if it was boosting ect

 

chances are you'll need to change the wastegate housing pal. not hard just try not to break any of the studs else you could be in trouble.
