Default Cossie 2wd dizzy timing...

Prob asked a million times before but here goes, changed the headgasket on my 2wd saff cossie but forgot to mark the aux pulley or dizzy for the timing, crank (sensor lug) and cams are fine but from the searches I found going by the pics I cant work out if the dizzy is in the right place. Do I need to pay attention to the pointer on the inside of the aux pulley as in the pics it shows it to be around 1-2 o'clock but then the rotor arm doesnt line up with the mark on the dizzy casing?

Also I have 2 marks on the outside of the dizzy casing, one is just a little line and the other is about a 1cm gap, so which is the one to use? But when the rotor arm is lined up with either of these marks the pointer on the aux pulley is still not where it shows in the pics?

Any help much appreciated,

Cheers

Paul

don't really matter where the aux pulley is to get it right u need to remove dizzy rotate and refit

you need the align the small line to centre of rotor arm

rotor arm need to be about 2 o'clock so the cap fitts easy

2 o'clock looking at it from where? directly from the front of the car or looking side on at the inlet side?

I'll have a go tom and report back, thanks

As said jackshaft position doesn't matter, but if you wanted it aligned you need only take the belt etc off and do again, I wouldn't bother.
As said the lining up is a bit crucial as the cap will foul the underside of plenum etc if not right, the scribed line needs to be dead in the centre of the rotor arm, as just one notch(on the skew gear) will make a difference, but you would immdiately find this with bad running.
