Jimbo the way my lights were wired the inners were just an extra set of full beam bulbs, so it still has fully functioning lights with them removed.

Hi Jimbo your car will pass its mot with the inners removed but you will not have a main beam. The side lights are on the outer one so all will be good

When i got my car the side lights were in the normal position , the outer morettes had a twin filliment bulb for normal and full beam light and also a small side light bulb, the inner morettes had an extra bulb wired to a relay so it came on with full beam.
When i painted my side lights and removed the inners i just uprated the bulbs to blue light ones to compensate.
Dont know if this is the way all morettes are wired or if mine had been messed with before.
