Soon to be released by SHP, fully space frame Mk1 Escort. The body is set to be either GRP or Carbon fibre depending on customer spec. What ever motor you want. Should be a easily/ fully serviceable track car. <1000kg easily achievable in this classic shape :coolsm: Enjoy.
Rear Clam just about to be removed ready for molds to be cast. Should be ready for September. Custom Cast 10"wide minilites:coolsm:

All composite body panels now molded and installed.
Looking like it should end up <1000kg. SHP are hoping to have the finished article at the Autosport show.

Think this is a Chris Ludlow design, works together with Sonny now on various projects - both are PROPER people building PROPER cars.
Am making enquiries as we speak, bang goes that house deposit!

Awesome
if SHP and Ludlow built it, and Toovey power, its pretty much a National Hot Rod but a decent body not a fucking Tigra..

Anyone know exactly what they're supplying you with?
In other words, what else would you need to get it up and running?
Do they supply those Minilites? What's the spec of the brakes/suspension they supply? (If at all)

SHP Engineering has now launched its website www.shpengineering.co.uk
where you can find details of the RSR Escort and other projects designed and built at SHP Engineering

I can confirm that although we are contracted to build National Hot Rod chassis for Ludlow, the RSR MKI Escort is totally an SHP Engineering product, designed and built by Sonny and Kelvyn Howard.
Our website is now online and features current details for the Escort amongst our products and more details will be added at regular intervals.
The RSR Escort has been engineered to meet the specification of the individual customer so it can meet MSA standards and be used wherever the customer wants it to.
Please feel free to contact SHP with any enquiries (details on our website)

Welcome to PF - may be in touch soon re: prices etc.... I am good mates with Eugene Farrell and Wayne Wigger who I believe you know.
Top car, think it will sell very well: me and my mates who've knocked around with Wayne for years in Hot Rods and old Fords think this is the future.
All the best,
Ben

That looks awesome!
Always wondered why kit car manufacturers don't do stuff like this instead of their usual poxy wannabe supercars that look like they've been styled by Stevie Wonder....
Wonder what Ford's take on it is, copyright etc?

Nice quality work and chassis design would have thought proper people making proper cars would have better sense than to use ERW SEAMED tubing in rollcage/chassis parts, my concern is if they cut corners on tubing quality where does it end.

The first set of photos featured on this post were taken by one of our customers and were released without our knowledge. The photos were taken prior to the car having its body panels and molds produced so some of the items shown in the photos are not the final specification.
We are in the process of adding more photos to the newly launched SHP website over the next few days and can supply additional information and photographs on request

Hi mark, not done much apart from bolt the cage in,ive taken axle off ready to be taken to fostek for a lsd, just need to sell bmw so i can buy some parts
It might sound ridiculous but I`m still going to ask. Would it be possible to place the fibreglass Mk1 shell over the floor pan together with all the running gear of a mazda MX5 or similar sports car ?
