Get in! Sorry but Liverpool are crap, why do they just pump cross after cross in all the time? No play at all. Gerrard tried to do a star jump again on the edge of the box at 92 minutes the cheat. Love it went he knee controlled on the edge of the box then went for the volley and missed the ball and fell over. Justice. At home Rafa should have played Keane and another striker what a waste of Ł20m and a good player, he looks well gutted every time he comes off (or sits out for freckly). Rierra is a joke that babbell is 50 times better.

Best chance was Belamy long shot hit the post deserved a goal IMO. Nice one West ham but then Liverpool aren't a threat you'll see.

well played west ham, although i dont think it was hard to hold out for a point we were dreadful again at home.

rafa pissed me off with his choice of having ngog infront of babel in the pecking order, the boy will leave and i dont really blame him, he should be getting games, hes defo ahead of ngog thats for sure

I could have typed the exact same sentence the other day, but replaced our Players with United ones and West Hams with Villa's!

I'm Disappointed but not at all surprised, we are lacking creativity at the moment, my only major gripe is playing Benayoun instead of Babel.

Me must have made about 600 passes in that game yet didn't really create a good clear cut chance,

Robbie Keane can look as gutted as he likes, but he can't complain at being dragged off, he was awful again. He needs to really sharpen up his act IMO!

The good news is we are top of the league

What a waste AGAIN. Fulham game all over. If we cant win at home we'll struggle! Anfield is where we've won a lot of games the last couple of seasons!

I hadn't seen the team last night but if Ngog and Benayoun played above Babel that's NONSENSE i rate babel! he's fast, skillful and certainly has a strong shot on him.

Agreed about Keane, he may keep getting subbed but he better start scoring ASAP!

The thing is, teams are happy to come and get a point, so you need real craft to break them down...we just didn't have that.

Babel came closest to scoring with a stunning drive.

Don't worry too much yet though, it's easy to get disheartened but remember we're top and we are historically very strong finisher to the season...so IMO if we can get through Christmas and still be at or near to the top then it gives us a chance...which is great

Lol, not really mate. Villa shit it and benched Carew so they could put about 50 CM players in and they only had Gabby and Young as attack minded players at home. You were at home and played Keane as the only striker besides West ham although poor didn't park the bus they had about 5 corners, hit the post and headed side netting. They also started Carlton cole and Belamy unlike Villa.

Robbie Keane can look as gutted as he likes, but he can't complain at being dragged off, he was awful again. He needs to really sharpen up his act IMO!
Not his fault IMO it's Rafa, he spent that money and probably had Keane thinking he was joining his dream club to play but reality is Benitez wants Alonso, Mad masch + Gerrard most of the time. If not then Keane will get pulled back. Torres being on his own with Gerrard supporting and if freckly is injured then Keane is on his own. At home that is shocking really. Just play back 4, Mascherano thats safe enough then Gerrard next to him with Keane and Torres (n'cogs whoever) up front. When you factor in the hard working Kuyt on the left again thats negative/protection. Robbie is the new crouch.

The good news is we are top of the league
Not for long, you and both Chelsea have slipped up two weeks in a row. If's and buts, but if we win our game in hand/stay with you then its 3 points and that is Old trafford game + better goals difference means we are above you. You were miles ahead but not any more.

Tricky with Sunderland next, playing a team (like Everton) on bad streak is risky like getting a team with a new manager is BUT we are at home. Japan World club cup trip is soon too, however we have played all last years top 9 away now.

So far United have the best defence, Chelsea the best attack and Liverpool cross the ball the most.

There are still too many If's and buts at the moment mate, the entire top 4 don't look as strong as they really are at the moment, i could pick so many faults with liverpools team and general play at the moment.

The same with Chelsea/United and Arsenal though.

I think we'll hit some good form after the Christmas period though, With Torres back we always look more dangerous.

I personally would have played Kuyt alongside Keane last night, With Babel wide right...there may actually have been a target to aim at then.

I'm just happy we're not playing catch up, as it would be too difficult in our current form to do IMO.

as i see it.

Everyone always harps on about liverpool/man u/arsenal/chelsea not being as good because....boring boring boring.......its always about the top team slipping up and not about the lower league teams playing well.....its about time someone gave teams like (the hammers )a bit of credit.

I'm sorry but that's the way it is, the lower teams see a draw as being a great result against the top 4, until they go with the mentality of winning then they won't be given any credit from me. Not so much West Ham last night, but i've seen lots of games this season between the Top 4 and the lower sides, and the game play is to avoid defeat at all costs, with no real intention of going all out to win.

i agree west ham would of been happy with a draw......but they should of actually won the game, bellamy 1 inch inside and that would of gone in,cole should of scored from his header and morte possibly should of scored at the end.

i know liverpool had all the possesion but didnt in all honesty didnt create anything.

west hams tactics were spot on.

West ham do deserve credit they did attack when they got the chance, went close at times and didn't panic with team selection. Hull city are another who deserve credit at times, 4-3 it was v United. Love West ham at the minute and Fulham and Stoke and Wigan (nearly) .

Agree with this too, can speak regarding United as that's who I watch most and teams do come to Old trafford and put the walls up. Shame really because although they don't have Ł30m players they can get results as FA cup, Hull city etc have shown us. The old theory of "if we put the walls up long enough hopefulyl we'll nick a goal".

With the inconsistancy of the top 4 so far, Hull could win the league

Looks like Liverpool are starting to bottle it again with a couple dodgy draws. Maybe one day they will put a full premiership season together

And maybe one day Arsenal will win the Champions League

Such a daft statement!!

Admittedly we haven't been playing well, but at NO point this season have we seriously looked like losing!!! the only game that game close was Wigan.

Spurs was a fluke that just happens sometimes, we should have won but we didn't.

The fact is were top and STILL not into our stride. I concede that we will only get away with playing badly for so long, and i fully expect to be overtaken by Chelsea or United going into January, but i still think we'll have a say in the title race and i still think we'll finish strongly.

I don't think we managed 1 win against the Arse/Chelsea/United last season, so we've already bettered that record after just 2 of the 6 games we've played against them.

I don't think we'll win at Old Trafford.
A draw with Chelsea at Anfield.
1 win at home to Arsenal
1 Defeat away to Arsenal.

That's what i see happening anyway, which gives us 10 points against those teams...6 better than last season.

It's gonna take some momumental fuck ups to put us completely out of the title race, and i just don't see it happening....ok we may not win the league but i'd take a bet with anyone that we'll only be 4 or 5 points max of the winners.

I wouldn't have guessed us to be in this position anyway, so i'm still really happy.

Wigan was so close it was almost touching. The points gained things is debatable as each year will be slightly different for example you beat us this year at Anfield but we beat City, Pompey and drew at Chelsea so 6 extra there but yeah its good to take points of the big guns.

Deal

Are we talking 5 points off United or Chelsea though?

ps i agree with you about the points gained...it's just a bit too early to make any conclusions in all honesty, i wouldn't have expected Chelsea to lose twice at home before Christmas, but they have.....although i doubt it will hinder them too much.

Every season is so different like you say.

Yet again we drop points at home to teams we should be beating, no dissrespect to fulham or west ham, they both deserved a point. we have no quality out wide, we havnt had since mcmanaman. our last right winger was cisse, and current is kuyt, both strikers, yes we have pennant, but when the manager plays a striker out wide instead of him, it gives you an indication of how good pennant is. when we get the ball in wide areas, the final delivery is shocking. riera looks lively, gets into good positions, but it goes behind, goes for a throw, or its no where near anyone in the box. but on the plus side, imo, we are only a couple of wingers away from having a real chance of winning the league, although unless keane steps it up, we might need another striker aswell.
