Probly sum sort of re post but hey ho.
My question is whats your best memory of your current or past rs that youve owned?
I first got the buzz for RS's when my mate's sister's boyfriend took me out in his white 1987 S2. It was awsome, Then a freind of mine got his S2 & within 1 week of him getting his i had to have 1, Even paying 2k insurance wasnt an issue, Such a buzz.
Mine would have to be the day i picked my 1st rs up. It was a 1989 mercury grey s2. I can still remeber the smell off her & the sound, I used to get comments saying it was the best sounding rst out of my mates rst's. The weather was shite absolutly pissing down my mate took me to pick it up in his s2. Was the best feeling ive had when driving it back. It was my first turbo'd car i couldnt get enough of it especialy the ptshhh.lol.
Was hoping to have a similar experiance when i bought my frst but it wasnt infact it was a let down. Had i drove it befor commiting to buy id never of bought it.
Id buy an s1 instead.
Random story i know but im sure thers many other peaple with a similar 1,

I have owned a S2, S1, Escort Cosworth
But for me would have to be the S1. Feels a very special car
S2 was nice but didnt really do it for me.
The Escos was nice, nice interior, exterior was out of this world really does stand out cant go anywhere without being noticed.

3 memories which stick out
1. my cossie was led up for 11 years with the engine in the boot; i put it back to together and hearing it fire up for the 1st time was brilliant. like a kid at Xmas
2. after upping the power to stage 3 (370hp ish) taking it for its first blast, couldnt take the grin of my face while giving it beans
3. a penis in a ceilca GT4 tring to race my down a dual carriage way; he was humbled soon after!

probaly the day i got my cossie, its my first RS/quick/turbo car so its alot rolled into one for me.
My dad went to carlisle on the train to collect it and i remember sitting down my mates house buzzing all day waiting for it to arrive, when i saw it coming down the road to my house i was ecstatic! I jumped in and straight away back down to pick my mate up and the look on his face was priceless, we then drove to another mates i rushden both with massive grins all the way there and back and probably for about a week after lol
i dont love it quite so much now though
