Crap pads for a start, that ebc stuff is shit, swap for Ferodo 2500 or Mintex 1144.Secondly,master cylinder,if standard is too small to pump enough fluid for the calipers.Regards,Micky

I agree with you on the pads, swap for Ferodo DS's! As for the master cylinder I'll have to disagree, the cosworth master cylinder isn't that much bigger. Does it still have ABS? My bet is that the ABS is the issue, it's jsut restricting the flow, eithrer that or the rear load compensators.

I know exactly what you mean about them not braking as you think they would, mine is exactly th same, I still have ABS and the load compensators, will be removing them and just running with a bias valve when I get round to it.

I'm removin my abs and fitin cozzie fronts, doesn't look difficult to remove abs, make up 2 new brake pipes to the T pieces from the master cylinder, then remove modulators and re bleed the system Roughly speaking

Get the ABS and kick it down the garden as hard as possible. Im running 1.3 master cylinder, Cos 4x4 calipers with 2wd discs @the front, full Coz 2wd setup at the rear with braided lines throughout and the brakes are fucking awesome, they are only running cheapy cheap pads to!

i will have to see. really not sure if i can be fucked to remove abs.

last s2 with abs removed it failed mot because if car is fitted with abs at standard then light must illuminate.

or maybe just loop the wire so light always comes on.

what else can it be?????????

Just loop the wire, join the ABS light to the handbrake light, job jobbed. It honestly is the ABS mate, it's just too restrictive and as B16CVH says, he's running a 1.3 master cylinder with great results. Unless of course there's a problem with your Master Cylinder? I would chuck the ABS mate, not too hard to do as studabear says.
