a while back on another forum, some dude i knew downloaded a program that changes to give a random IP on every login. go on downloads.com and see whats about
he did it so he could have a fuck load of different accounts to act like a gimp, but im guessing you might have a serious use for it lol

Your able to change your IP a number of ways, but ultimately it all depends on how your ISP is configured.
Certain routers allow you to refresh IP settings by going into the control panel normally accessed via http://ipadress you can then choose to renew IP addresses. Normally you'd then have to wait overnight for that to take effect.
Another way is to go into command prompt > start > programs > accessories > command prompt (or type cmd in search).
When the command line loads type:
ipconfig /release
then
ipconfig /renew
Like I said, ultimately wether it works or not is down to how your ISP allocates IP addresses.
Hope that helps in some way anyway.

ipconfig /release is only going to work on the internal network, not on the internet.
Virgin are correct that it will change (or CAN) change every time you restart your router, whether it does or not is just dependant on their DNS timeout.
Anyway, there is no way to change it to a specific, or old IP address, but if you switch if your router for a few days it is likely to receive a new one.
But the problem you are having doesn't sound like its attributed to this anyway, whats the site and whats the exact error you are getting?
