no, just been in there, my pump(oil ) was the suspect, so ripped it out, fitted a new high flow one, with a new water pump too, fresh oil (synth), but no pressure gauge, and the light is out.

doesnt sound like that, just grindy, not more as you rev, no smoke and no apparent power loss, just noisy tho, makes me think the shells are on their way.

regular oil cleans with filters, just fitted a new turbs, as last one oversped(gay dum-valve), and shot the exhaust veins on it, must not tho, it must have been starved of oil too, as the pick up was jammed with the last mechs silicone sump sealer, ( turkey).

take it you didnt whip off the main/big end caps to check the condition of the bearings when you took the sump off etc?

Horrible sound one I have good experience in.
2x cvhs main bearings, 1 essex v4 min bearings, 2 pintos main bearings,
1x cosworth yb bearings.

I'd get an oil pressure gauge. So you at least you know what pressures you're getting.
Did you notice any swarf in the oil or on the oil pump pickup drainer??

Dont mean to sound funny but have you tried putting ur foot on the clutch then rev it as mine sounds like my engine is fooked if you rev it as the gearbox rattles.
