hi there ppl i have a 200 block cosworth engine that needs boring i was wondering what pistons i would need after it had been bored or what choices would i have thanks
depends on how much is bored out! - what size is it at the moment?
or is this a trick question?

i was told it needs borein as it has a bit of a lip at the top ot the bore or does it just need re honeing its a standard engine just needing a rebuild .i dont now much bout boreing ect and if ya can do it with these engines info would be much apriciated thanks
unless you are going for silly power; standard mahle pistons will be enough
edit to say: if its just a lip, you could probably get away with a hone - best off taking it to someone who knows what they are talking about IMO

i now relyland but i aint got that sort off muni to spend ya see .i heard alot about the haslowen engines cool ill go see em .im trying to save as much cash as i can buy doing it myself ya see iv done a bottom end bearings be4 but never changed pistons an such.

No point just honing the bores and fitting new std size pistons (if thats what they are at the moment) as bores wear oval from front to back, go for +0.5mm and you will be just fine.
I can get the block bored with torque plate for Ł100 cash but you would need the pistons also to determine the bore size prior to maching.

Mate I was running my car on a pretty tight budget and Martin's sorted me twice for VERY sensible cash. Go and speak to him.

Why dont you ask Martin for some advise on what you need or want im sure for the price of a Bacon butty he at least talk to you and you could gain a wealth of information and save a penny or two aswell.

hes a nice person i took me white 3dr to him with a rattle i thought it was a tappet but it was summat jus vibrating .i could stay there all day an talk to him his info on cosworths is amzing im gona go see him 2moz
