Woolworths also by the looks of things my mate works there says its to do with the 18.5% vat plan that gordon browns could have planned for us in the near future

the cost of making amendments to there advertising pricing twice will cost them alot

In a world where Ikea sell more or less the same thing and don't have the stigma of flat-pack it was only a matter of time.

I dont think a change like that would suddenly make a large company go to wall over night

I was only in MFI on Sunday asking them to draw me up a kitchen Wasnt planning on buying buy wanted them to draw me a plan and be interested in their price.

MFI, could not afford to pay the rent on the various retail units they have. The Londonderry store closed down a couple of weeks ago and had a 70% off all sale, people unbolted display stock and bought it!

2 or 3 stores local to me have closed in the last 2 weeks or so too.

Owell, if it helps the small independant furniture/kitchens and bathrooms guys then its a good thing imo. I'm all for supporting local business.

Registered in England & Wales Reg No. 05789188
Telephone: 0870 607 5054

Updated: 27 November 2008

MFI Group Limited (In Administration)
Phil Duffy, Geoff Bouchier and Paul Clark of MCR were appointed as Joint Administrators to MFI Group Limited on the evening of 26 November 2008. All administrators are license by the Insolvency Practitioners Association.
The Company is continuing to operate whilst the Administrators examine the financial position of the Company. In the meantime, all MFI stores remain open for the sale of display stock only.
The affairs, business and property of the company are being managed by the Joint Administrators, who act as agents of the company and without personal liability.
Customers with existing orders
A full review of all customer orders is currently taking place by the Administrators in order to determine which orders it is possible to fulfil. The Administrators will be contacting all customers as soon as is reasonably practical to advise as to whether individual orders will be fulfilled.
In the event that certain orders are not fulfilled, it is the current intention of management to refund all cash/cheque and debit card depositors and allow credit card depositors to seek a refund from their credit card provider.
Please note that customer queries are not being handled by the stores and that stores are unable to deal with any refund queries.
For customer queries regarding your order, please contact the customer call centre on 0870 607 5054 during office hours and the call centre staff will endeavour to answer your query. Alternatively, email enquiries@mfi.co.uk. Further customer information can be found by clicking here.
Suppliers
All supplier orders have been suspended and should not be completed without the express authorisation of the Administrators. Suppliers should email mfi@mcr.uk.com and one of the Administrators staff will deal with your enquiry. Further supplier information can be found by clicking here.

Alternatively, if you require contacting the Administrators' office, you can do so by emailing the dedicated email address mfi@mcr.uk.com. One of the Administrators' team will endeavour to deal with your query as soon as practical. However, we do ask that you bear with us as our office is presently experiencing a high volume of emails and calls.
The Administrators' offices are located at 43-45 Portman Square, London W1H 6LY.

Some of the things they sell are ok, but its the useless staff what stop us from using them. Never EVER had an order correct yet, and can never get things sorted promptly enough
