as said above really happy with mine.as an everyday day car brilliant, just a bit thirsty.the power is there really low down and the volvo 5 pot gives off a really nice sound.
mine is now 300 bhp, makes for sporting progress if a little entertaining in the wet.

I drove my mates for the first time recently, having never driven one before.
Standard it was ok, but slow and ran out of puff at the top end quite quickly.
With his Remap (Code:Red) it was alot better! It's never going to set the world alight, but I think for a point to point car, its very good, and that 5cyl lump does sound good!
Only thing I didnt like is that it seemed to be very skittish on back roads. I didnt feel 100% confident in it. The roads I was driving I would've chucked my old Octavia vRS around on no problems, but I only felt I could push to 90% in the ST.

feels heavy but the wide spread of power is kool! keeps up with alot and can get some hooning around!
hard launch and bang in 2nd TC cuts in when the wheels spin and all power gets killed! when i first got mine i got caught out and nearly lost a race against a lesser car

I had code red 285 in mine , airtec intercooler, mongoose exhaust, decat, code red air filter it was fast & good to drive but fuel economey was crap even standard..I would buy a focus rs if i was after either of the two
mate a standard focus rs aint slower then a st and atleast you would hold some money, like you say even not a 2 year old st is 11985 and a 5 yeard old 6 year old focus rs is the same value if you get what i mean mate due to limited numbers but all a matter of opioin

You clearly know your stuff then because they arent the same fucking colour
focus rs is imperial blue & focus st is performance blue.
Buy one of you like i dont care one bit.
But when the focus st is the same age as the focus rs whats going to be worth more money? Focus rs without a doubt good focus rs's are about the same value as most focus st's just now.
I personally think the rs is a better looking car

thanks carlo lol all people have different views the st is comfy and very smooth power and the rs has raw power, wider track etc the st is cheaper to mod and get bits due to the mass number of them but your choice mate
I have had mine just over a year now, ended up selling my 1.8 zvh rs turbo cos I always used the ST instead. It doesnt have that RS feel but it has Recaro's, goes well. oh i forgot turn traction control off cos its abit, well crap if you feel the need to get anywhere in a hurry. Been getting 25-27mpg.

had mine two years, just had a new turbo fitted due to sticking wastegate. how are you people achieving these mpg's? i've never seen mine go above 19mpg!! and before you ask, i drive quite calmly most off the time!
i sold my focus rs for 12750
just over a year ago was 300 bhp loved it ,really miss it .ive seen a few go at 7/8 k ish now and would love another
just got to sell my porsche
Ive owned my ST for around 4-5 months no problems touch wood well the mpg is pap but nothing mechanical yet lol.
I opted for Dreamscience and decided the DSCI map was the best for me. It isnt hanging about put it this way. It loves scoobys lol.
The traction control issue after the remap is non existant on the std map on hard acceleration the car would basically stop in its tracks it was terrible. However after remap i can accellerate hard with the traction control on and the car drives? lol.
According to the Dreamscience website after remap it takes the 225 to 270 on a std car + Race plus/ Dsci. All engines react different so id expect between 250-270 out of it accompanied with a K+N pannel filter the OEM filter is so ristrictive!
I think if it came around to buying again especially now since prices are rock bottom id buy again only because of my age though. You can pick up Newish Evos/ Scoobys/ Bmw M3s/ Escort Cosworths for the price if not cheaper sadly i couldnt insure any.
Its not a bad car just theres better cars out there imo and i own one.

I have had mine for 2.5 years, 32k miles from new
all great its running the Code:Red 295 spec, you can not fault the car it does everything perfectly. Now they are cheap to buy they are really worth that test drive. You will get hooked on the sound on the engine, once you remap them they get even better.
The market is shit for them at the moment so go grab a bargin!!!
I have owned 2 Focus RS's and as a day to day car the ST its miles better, if you arent doing massive miles and a few track days then look at the RS (or better yet wait for the new one to bring down prices.)

i made this decision 2 weeks ago! i could've bought an ST but went for the RS which will hopefully retain better value!. imo it's a better looking car too and i know they are the same colour but even though its still a fantastic colour!
maybe i'm just a badge snob

I have drove Monster's. Was VERY impressed, very smooth, sound great (Need a exhaust to bring out the best in that 5 cylinder though!) and pokey enough, could see them being quite fast with a map etc.
Plus, there SILLY cheap! Its a win win win IMO!

Always amazes me that people complain that a performance car drinks fuel ...LOL
If you wanted economy, but a fooking diesel dog
For me, going from a 440 bhp escos to the ST has been a relief on fuel costs
