Nope, I must be the only 'anti bear grylls' person I know..

Everyone loves him, but it's all pure fraud IMO.

It's not like he actually eats any of this stuff, he just gags on it. It makes a mockerey of genuine survival techniques IMO and I bet there's real SAS out there watching thinking what a prat he is.

So much over exaggeration, "100ft down" etc and he's 15ft up a waterfall.

I saw some last night where he was spear fishing for pirahna, someone quite clearly speared a fish which was not a pirahna and then the next shot it showed him holding a red bellied pirahna on the spear.

If you watch it form a sceptical point of view there's so many errors that just make it a joke and an extension of I'm a celebrity get me out of here (apart from they actually swallow the 5hit they eat)

Well I heard him being interviewed on the radio and they asked him about the special forces and he hinted more that he'd gone out with them not been a part of them, IIRC he 'joined' them somewhere as a survival helper or something.

It's obvious he doesn't eat the stuff, it's not like he sits there and munches away, he just puts it in his mouth, gags then lets it sort of run down his chin and that's it, camera cuts away and he's off doing something else. If he sat there and munched a large piece, enjoyed it and looked hard and swallowed it then fair enough but everything I've seen he gags on a tiny bit of something then the shot changes onto the next scene.

Maybe I'm just more observant than most people but the spear fishing thing was so obvious. There's loads of stuff if you look at it from a different point of view like when he trips and he's hanging off a 100ft drop etc, he'd know exactly where he is etc just all for the camera and way too cheesey for me.

I also don't like the fact that he kills things and litterally wastes them just to show people. 99% of the stuff is a nice snake or something that he cuts the head off then gags on a tumbnail sized piece and then throws away, it just has no depth to me.

I do watch the program though (and will be later) but I like to moan at the TV rather than marvel at what he does.

His early stuff used to be realistic, but i think with the pressure of production etc hes had to compromise on a few things so the shows arnt as "hardcore" as they were, still entertaining though
