Nope, Marcus won't do it.... It's a huge amount of work and will be very costly for too little return.

I did think it would be costly. I had to ask just to see if anyone had attempted to make one in the past.

Barry, is that an actual one or photoshopped? If real, how much are you thinking of selling them for?

Got to admit, those Carbon parts look great, that engine bay is top.

However my objective is to get rid of the metal part completely and have only a Carbon fibre cover so saving weight.

cheers

Kenny.

Vic, of course it`s real mate, a real cover that is. It would be easier at least for us to produce anything in carbon than to photoshop it lol.

The cover just had to be made, the engine bay now looks right and balanced, carbon middle, ally and stainless around the edges.

Sorry Kenny as Mike has said to produce a replacement part would be too expensive both in development and sale price.

Gus,you never know, if there is enough interest for a part it can be produced. I am sure the genius carbon guru that is Marcus did a stunning replacement cover. There are a few out there, maybe contact Mike and see if they are still being made.

If it is a part for a 3 door and i want it it gets made regardless of whether anyone wants it or not. So for the 3 door guys they are lucky as any development costs are met by me.

Yes he does, I gave you a price the other day . £285 plus delivery - I never heard from you after that .

That is some pretty carbon!

Is the cover and direct replacement or a cover for the existing rocker cover?

Mike: Is that £285 +pnp for the cover in the pic, if not do you have any pics?

Will,
The price I quoted is for a full CVH replacement cam cover - not something that overlays the original item. The reason it is so expensive is that an aluminium base and oil filler neck has to be machined and then moulded into the carbon to create the cam cover. This is the only way to do one that will seal correctly .

Just a quick question abpout the matt and gloss finishes on carbon pieces. Does this discolor over time and what temp does it need to get to before it damages the item?

You would have to fabricate a support that comes off the front bolts that hold the cover on .

Loads of people have had charge carriers (for the RST) with the lug wings cut off, thus removing the bolt downs, and they just float over the rocker cover, so that would probably be the best option on one of those carbon CVH covers - maybe just slip in something between the charge carrier and cam cover for the charge carrier to rest on so it don't vibrate....
