Default Focus ST170 engine query

My brother has got a complete ST170 engine for a project he is playing with an dwhile the engine is out and on the stand he figurd he may as well give it a once over.

Question he has is what will the stock rod bolts take? Is it worth uprating them to ARP items or are the stock items ok. Plan is to stick the engine on throttle bodies.

Stock items are uprated as standard and tested to 300bhp.

CheeRS mate but we have the engine in the garage. Got to drive my car today as well so we could get the engine in. Was great all 40ft I travelled.

Surely the rpm they will take is much more useful than that.

Well we've been told from a few sources that the oil pump fails in an interesting fashion when revved beyond 7400rpm so we're keeping revs lower than this and will cap the revs at a level when power and torque drop off.

Think it is a zetec engine with a trick head and beefier block.
