Default more info

I'm trying to adapt an electric PS pump to a project car. My goal is to replace the original mechanical power steering pump with the electric pump. With the new engine configuration, there isn't enough room for all the engine accessories.

Looking at the pump from above, one sees three different sets of connections. Two sockets have three connections and are positioned on opposite sidesr. The third socket is between the other two has only two connections. I'd like to know the function of each of these connections.

Maybe someone can say if this electric pump was available on non-diesel models?

Default pump

The petrol models have them . The triple left side control both the side aim headlamps via a signal and ties in to steering limits for the ABS and esp. Same for the low level triple power circuit on the right side. The centre is POWER earth and Live running a require boost of 14 volts all but via running power circuit only engine running that is. The left from the front is earth and right is live. They feed into capacitator that store whacks of high voltage to drive a high end winding that sits below in a ally dry case and above sealed in the oil is resovoir is the direct linked pump sunk in a bath of oil . The top and bottom are seperat and the weaknesss in these pumps is that the motor locks at the lowwer bearing from ingress of moisture .

Default forgot

Forgot say the ingress of water destroys the circuit board in some way the motor is actually quite reliable but depends on the electronic circuit. The winding is fixed and the outer magnets are the spinninig item set on a rubber triple bed to stop vibration. These items are over 300 quid so get a good tested second hand unit.
