Default 17 inch alloys in RST S2.

Hi mates!

Probably I buy a RST S2 from 1989 and I want to put 17 inch on it.

I like the seven spokes diamond cut from the Mondeo. Are good rims for the RST? The ET is correct? I'm not sure but I think the ET is 35 and the wide is 7,5 inches. Is correct? I am concerned that the tire touch the wing... Wich is the correct ET just in case I buy a brand new alloys?

What size of tire are better? 205/40 or 195/40? Another maybe?

Thanks to all! Greetings from Spain!

I mate.

I prefer don't modify the arches... If I don't modify the arches the tires touches them?

Thanks.

You know that the RST handles and feels SO SO much better on 16" wheels?

If it's been lowered a lot then I would go for the 195/40/17 as the lip will curve in more and should save the tyres from rubbing the arches.

My personal opinion is that 7x16" is optimum. I run 205/45/16, but it was lovely on 195/45/16.
