Hi Mate, i'm not 100% certain what you mean by mobile broadband, do you mean you have one of those cards that plugs into your laptop (like the voda phone red thing) or mobile broadband through a mobile phone provider like 3 or orange? In any case i'm fairly confident that your going to struggle to connect (i may be wrong and hope that i am) but i don't now of anyone who has plugged a usb connector direct into the ps3 (it has got usb ports) and played online.

Just reading up on this a bit more, regardless of what type of modem you have (either card or usb) you can connect your ps3 to your laptop (assuming that's what you have) and plug the usb into your laptop and share the connection via the ethernet cable. Google internet connection sharing for a how to.

The PS3's ethernet connection is at the back off the unit and has two led's either side of the socket. It's marked LAN. Connect your laptop to the internet like you normally do then run a ethernet cable from the outlet of your laptop to your PS3's LAN socket and hopefully you should be there.

You may suffer slow speeds thou

once you are online with the laptop etc, get the ps3 to do a search for wireless connections

it should pick it up and then you conenct and job done

it easy if you use a wire though as it conencts as soon as it's on ansd stays online until you turn it off, letting you know when your buddies come online etc

I think his internet is coming in via a usb i.e. he doesn't have a router and his broadband comes through the air without a phoneline etc. Once he gets broadband to his laptop/pc the only way i think he can transfer the connection his via a cable.

O/P this isn't the best way to do this but if it's all you got an all that. On the plus side you can watch porn while shooting Taven888 at the same time

Thats the type mate, plug in usb type, no routers etc. Used to have normal landline but now on this and unfortunately contracted for another few month! Tried searching on PS3 with PC on but didnt pick up so maybe ur idea sounds best using the ethernet from pc/laptop while connected, i'll try that way. Know its not gonna b much cop but just wanna check it out, then get landline when i get hooked on it! Cheers for help!
