Default Anyone know how to kill a tree ???

Next to my drive there is a 200ft Silver Birch tree belonging to a neighbour. During the summer it drops sap and seeds on the cars and now its fooking leaves Does anyone know of something i could do to kill it without my neighbour knowing what I've done

i was told years ago that copper nails into the trunk will kill a tree, i have no idea though.

or just pour a few gallons of petrol into the gound around it.

i'm pretty sure both will be illegal though

is there an order on the tree for it not to be destroyed?

if not just cut it just yourself. my dad drill holes in his and filled with oil, couple of months later is was dying and had to be cut down, but was obvious. os any chance of a picture of a 200ft tree? the roots on that must be causing all sorts of problems with your drive and house foundations.

If the tree is 200 feet tall it was there before you moved in so leave it alone!!!

Right now, the tree is on the arborial equivalent of our internet, the inter-root, asking his woody mates how to kill the guy next door who is always leaving these heavy, smelly things sitting on his roots!

i very much doubt its 200ft and if it is its sure to have a tpo on it meaning you go and willing kill it your liable to a fine and they aint cheap fines Ł10,000 was mentioned when it was brought up at a council meeting recently from the head tree officer

whats 200ft in real money? about 70 metres? thats a mighty big tree and could likely have a preservation order on it.

Blow it up whilst your neighbours stood under it, should do the trick

can and can't be mate alot of them will expect you to pay half and i have known lots of em to just be left until it starts to fall down bit by bit and theres nothing you can do as a neighbour

as its all classed as an act of god so you can't calim insurance or anything so you end up paying up for half the job just to get it done personally i'd just leave it alone and put up with it being there

got to the pet shop and ask if they sell woodperckers

at least that way you can fill the holes they make with paint or wahtever it is to make it look like it wasn't you

if you pay cash for the woodperckers and wear a scarf there is no way to link you to the crime

other than thsi post

My money is on the tree!

When I did my advanced driving, one of the pieces of advice was to avoid hitting a tree because "it will kill you every time".

Your not serious?

It's a fooking tree, jesus why can't you just leave it be and find something else to worry about. It was there long before you and it should be there long after you. It's nature and shouldn't be messed with.
