Don't use standard top mounts, it'd be a bit of a waste (if they fit, which I doubt).

You could use eccentric or concentric Compbrake/TAS style top mounts, or Gp N, Gp A, or WRC top mounts (with suitable spacers if the top mount bearing is too big).

The choice depends on budget, car use, and the rest of your front suspension specification.

Do you mean top mounts perphaps? I have the 909 top mounts using a polybush in the strut top. Should these be solid mounted?

I've just got these in stock if your are interested

https://passionford.com/forum/sin-bin/264204-cosworth-rose-jointed-top-mounts-group-buy-now-with-pics-fitted.html

they come with the spacers etc.

This style of top mount is used on Group N cars I think. It used the std bush and requires no drilling.

PM me if your interested as there are a couple in stock that I could do for the group buy price.

No ,
jon gave the correct reply , tim was taking the piss but was correct in as much as the 1mm tube spacer on the top of your dampers are referred to as "top hats " they site the damper inside the bearing of the top mounts already mentioned . You may have a few issues making the little roadcar bearing and rubber mounts fit these .

They're like mine, only mine are black with a 909 part number. They don't fit very well with a standard bush though. Perphaps i should trim my bush?

No, i am using xr4x4 poly bushes, and it is the type that sits in the strut top on the shell. I seem to remember that when i took them off the donor rally car, the top bit of the bush was missing, hence i think i need to trim the top lip off my bush. Any ideas?

When I got my top mounts, I was told to buy standard Escos bushes, and boil them to help fitting (without being trimmed).

The old bushes that came with the mounts had been trimmed slightly, but I remember Brom told me that when he and SeanB fitted some to Seans' car, they were "slightly awkward" to fit with untrimmed Escos bushes.

i wasnt taking the piss tony,he asked about top hats, and i gave the correct answer.

now it seems he has called them the wrong thing, the top hat is the spacer/retaining ring as shown in your picture, you actually meant strut tops then?if so tony is correct.

and tony,in stock next to my brake bells? iam running out of time, car is out nextweekend!
